VanCity Physio was founded on a straightforward belief: that high-quality physiotherapy should feel accessible, personalised, and genuinely effective.
Located in the heart of Vancouver, our clinic brings together a team of experienced practitioners who share a commitment to clinical excellence and a patient-first philosophy. Whether you're here to recover from injury, address chronic pain, or optimise your physical performance, you'll receive care that's tailored to your goals, your body, and your life.
VanCity Physio began as a small practice with a clear purpose: to create a modern, welcoming clinic where Vancouverites of all ages and backgrounds could access world-class physiotherapy.
Over the years, we've grown our team, expanded our services, and continued to raise the standard of care we provide. Today, VanCity Physio is one of Vancouver's most trusted physiotherapy clinics, recognised for our personalised approach, our clinical rigour, and the lasting results we deliver for our patients.
To empower every patient to move better, feel better, and live better. We pursue that mission through individualised treatment plans, evidence-based clinical practice, and a genuine commitment to each patient's long-term wellbeing.
Recovery isn't just about resolving symptoms. It's about building the strength, confidence, and resilience to get back to what matters to you. Your goals drive your treatment.
We listen carefully, collaborate openly, and design care plans that fit your life — not the other way around.
Four principles that guide every decision we
make — from your first session to your last.

In 2023, Sarah relocated to Vancouver from Cape Town, South Africa, a decision that had been in the works for 13 years and was finally realized. Having obtained her BSc in physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town in 1998, Sarah dedicated herself to various settings within the field, including rural public hospitals, private hospitals, and eventually establishing her own private clinic. By 2011, she sensed the need to invigorate her professional journey, leading her to pursue a Master's in manipulative therapy, which she successfully completed in 2013. This advanced degree reignited her fervour for physiotherapy, offering a comprehensive exploration into joint mechanics, pain science, clinical reasoning, and effective communication.
Throughout her career, Sarah has not only maintained her private practice but also ventured into academia, educating both undergraduate and postgraduate students across a spectrum of physiotherapy subjects, ranging from cervical spine issues to interpersonal communication skills. Her areas of expertise encompass headaches, neck pain, and pelvic floor physiotherapy, areas in which she holds a deep interest.
Sarah's involvement in a diverse array of sports, including volleyball, basketball, running, biking, and boxing, has cultivated a keen understanding of sports-related injuries and their rehabilitation processes. Committed to staying abreast of advancements in her field, she actively pursues continuing education opportunities through national and international courses, literature, and conferences, recognizing the importance of evidence-based practices in delivering optimal patient care.

Andy Dobbs graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Lethbridge in 2015 and then graduated from the Vancouver Career College massage therapy program in 2017. He employs a Swedish-based massage style featuring deep glides along tight and sore muscle fibres.
Andy's extensive knowledge of anatomy and sports medicine is utilized as he analyzes his patient's biomechanics and treats muscles and joints. He believes in the importance of keeping up with recent research in manual therapy and pain modulation to provide the best possible care for his patients. Andy has extended education on Temporal-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) treatment to treat jaw pain. Additionally, he's taken the Ligamentous Articular Strain Technique (L.A.S.T.) and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage (I.A.S.T.M.) courses.
In his free time, Andy enjoys playing fantasy football and baseball with his friends. Despite watching football and baseball religiously since he was 13 years old, he's inexplicably terrible at fantasy sports and hasn't won a championship in over 15 years. He's often listening to NaS and A Tribe Called Quest as he believes 90s New York-based hip-hop was the peak of the genre. After a long day at work and putting his two boys to bed, he crashes with his wife on the couch to enjoy a blend of petty drama and competition of "America's 5th major sport" found in MTV's "The Challenge"
