Ranko’s path to becoming a trusted physiotherapist in Vancouver began with studies in Biochemistry and Genetics, alongside his work as a research assistant at the Terry Fox Labs in the BC Cancer Research Centre, assisting in studies of Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. While completing his Kinesiology degree at University of British Columbia, he gained clinical experience at the Centre for Hip Health & Musculoskeletal Research at Vancouver General Hospital, building a strong foundation in movement science and rehabilitation.
As a Personal Trainer and Kinesiologist, he worked with a diverse group of clients, providing customized training programs and motivating them to achieve their personal health and fitness goals. After graduating from UBC Kinesiology and working for several years, he realized his passion was physiotherapy. In 2013, he enrolled in the UBC Physiotherapy Masters Program, which he graduated from in 2015. Today, Ranko is a licensed Physiotherapist (RPT) with the College of Physiotherapists of British Columbia and an active member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
As a Vancouver physiotherapy provider, Ranko works with individuals of all ages and activity levels, with a particular focus on sports injuries and persistent conditions that have not responded to conventional treatment. His combined background in Kinesiology and Physiotherapy allows him to take a movement-based, highly individualized approach to rehabilitation, helping clients build strength, restore function, and prevent recurrence.
Ranko has pursued advanced training in Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) and orofacial pain, making him a go-to physiotherapist Vancouver patients trust for jaw-related conditions. His treatment approach incorporates a range of modern techniques, including functional dry needling, shockwave therapy, HeIT (emPT), mobilization with movement, and kinetic link training.
Outside the clinic, Ranko is fluent in Serbian and enjoys staying active year-round. In the summer, he can be found playing basketball, swimming, or biking, while winters are spent on the ski slopes of British Columbia. A fun fact: Ranko worked with the Serbian Olympic Committee during the 2010 Winter Olympics, further fueling his passion for sports rehabilitation and performance.
